PHONEHOME FINANCIAL SCHOLARS
Arrelious Benn, a professional football player and DC native, is dedicated to inspiring individuals to achieve their full potential.
In the Fall of 2017, Arrelious launched the PhoneHome Financial Scholars program with education technology provider EVERFI to empower the next generation with the financial knowledge they need to lead healthy, financially responsible lives.
Arrelious Benn’s PhoneHome Financial Scholars program is an educational initiative comprised of two digital learning courses specifically designed to introduce financial education skills early in a child’s cognitive development.
Since the launch of the PhoneHome Financial Scholars program at the beginning of the 2017 – 2018 school year, it has impacted hundreds of students across a total of nine elementary schools and high schools in Washington, DC.

Financial LiteracyTM builds the foundation for students future financial well being. Covering everything from common account types to the basics of investing, each module provides bite-sized, instructional animations to make each topic approachable and relatable to students.

Vault – Understanding MoneyTM empowers students to be smart financial decision makers while they are early in their cognitive development. By leveraging performance-based games, Vault immerses students in real-life financial scenarios that focus on skill building and responsible decision making.
“Teaching financial literacy is more than just helping students to manage their finances – it’s about preparing them for successful futures. As the financial world becomes increasingly more complex, I’m excited to have my PhoneHome Financial Scholars Program assist students in growing one step closer to becoming financially independent!”
– Arrelious Benn, Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver #17

My Cause, My Cleats 2017
Week 13 in the NFL provides our favorite professional athletes with permission to wear custom footwear in regular-season games. It’s all about the #MyCauseMyCleats campaign giving players the chance to design shoes that show their commitment to different philanthropic causes. In support of his PhoneHome Financial Scholars program, Arrelious Benn will wear these special cleats to honor his financial education commitment to students across Washington, D.C.
